Easter Egg Hunt

Every year as part of the Easter celebrations, Americans fill up wicker baskets with treats such as chocolate eggs and jellybeans. One of the great American traditions is called an Easter Egg Hunt. The story goes that the Easter Bunny hides candies inside of colored eggs and spreads them all over a family’s yard or inside their house. Then, the kids run around excitedly picking up the eggs and putting them into their Easter baskets. At the end of the hunt, they get to open up the eggs and eat the candy that’s inside. Sometimes, especially for older children, the Easter Bunny will even hide a little cash inside the eggs for the children.
This year, my oldest son got to go on an Easter Egg Hunt for the very first time. He’s still quite young, so the Easter Bunny didn’t make the eggs very hard find and his younger brother isn’t old enough yet to go on the hunt, so he didn’t have much competition in collecting the eggs. Next year, I think it will be much more of a challenge! Overall, it was a fun day with family and friends, and in my opinion, one of the best parts of springtime in Michigan.
